BAIL BOND COUNSULTATION

Contact us to discuss the process of obtaining a bail bond. During the consultation, the bail bondsman will evaluate the defendant's and co-signer's qualifications to determine the process needed to execute a bail bond that will allow for a defendant's release.

HOW THE BAIL PROCESS WORKS:

Arrest and Booking

The defendant is arrested and taken into police custody, where their details, alleged crime, fingerprints, and photographs are recorded.

Bail Hearing

The defendant appears before a judge or magistrate who sets a bail amount based on factors such as the severity of the crime, past criminal record and evaluation whether the defendant will likely return to court.

Contact a Bail Bondsman

If the bail amount is too high to pay, a bail bondsman can be contacted to post bail on the defendant's behalf. The bail bondsman acts as an intermediary between the defendant and the court to help secure the defendant's release. When calling a bondsman have the defendant's full legal name, date of birth, booking number if known and which jail the defendant is being detained in.

Work with the Bail Bondsman

The bondsman will look up the charges and the set bail amount. This information will guide the discussion to determine the premium rate that the bondsman will charge to execute the bail bond on the defendant’s behalf. If the required premium charge cannot be paid in one payment, the amount available for the first payment will determine the payment plan arrangements. The bail bondsman will guide the cosigner through the paperwork and explain the terms of the agreement. As the defendant’s cosigner for release, be sure you thoroughly understand your obligations as cosigner(s).

Posting Bail

After all paperwork is completed and the agreed upon initial payment has processed, the bondsman will go to the jail and execute that bail bond that begins the process of the defendant’s release. The

defendant must appear for all future court dates, or the bail amount will be forfeited by the court. After the defendant’s release the defendant must contact or meet with the bail bondsman to submit pertinent information. After the defendant’s release, the cosigner(s) must understand  they are in legally binding agreements that can be used in court and that the defendant will be surrendered back to jail in the event of a failure to appear in court.
